Met BUDD (weiqi) for dinner @Izakaya MOF. Caught up lots regarding her work situation and about her colleagues. Afterwhich we window shopped throughout the night at Daiso, Uniqlo, Muji and ended of the night at Isetan, where I bought a maple walnut bread? from Asanoya Bakery ♥ We had so many things that we wanted to get at Daiso but didn't >ɷ<
20 DEC
Had dinner with my mom, oldest sis and brother at Giant. While eating I was just checking Instgram and saw that my cousins had a feast with their mom and their maternal aunt & cousins. And so coincidentally, we met them at Giant! Just my cousins and their parents. One of them approached me while I was sniffing out hand soaps *such an embarassment* And he had to shove that in my face too by calling me, "eh aunty" -.- lol
23 DEC
Had dinner with xinyun @Tonkichi, Orchard Central, where we quite like the atmosphere, but not so much of the food '-' Afterwhich we headed to one of the bars opposite Orchard Central for some beer. No kidding, but this is the third time I've tried beer (my first two times were with weiqi, xinlin, yinghui & seraph; and weiqi & xinlin respectively) The two of us downed 3 bottles of heineken, which was not to my liking. I think I prefer foreign beer >v<
24 DEC BIG BANG attends Radio Star!
30 DEC
Hehe, finally met up with xinlin and weiqi and had dinner in this random bar @Fourplay, Katong. Weiqi and I had fish&chips which were on offer for the day while xinlin tried their burgers. Their beer was not bad, we had five bottles of an assortment of Tennent, Tennent stout and Hever Lee white, of which I like the latter. Afterwhich, we had vegan ice cream for desserts from Brownice. As we felt that the night was still young, we headed over to Teo Heng, Katong Shopping Complex. However, we only managed to sing 2 songs for free before we had to change our plans. To end off the night, we cabbed down to town and settled with an hour of Lan, left 4 dead 2 @POMO (>▲<)
Loved the two main characters since the start of episode one. And it isn't any cliche love story which starts out from love at first sight or cause of fate. This plot is much closer to reality and much closer to the heart.
Firstly, the two characters met by fate as they were childhood friends, but they decided to stay that way. As friends, they've helped each other overcome crush, exgirlfriend, fear of competitions, and simply enjoyed each other's company ♥ ♥ ♥
Secondly, it is heartwarming as the friends fall for each other, and it probably reminds some of us of our past, those friendships which manifested into a relationship. The fact that they weren't even each other's ideal type, but they fell for each other's true self, past their surface.
The male lead told his best buddy that he loved the female lead cause she's "sexy" in his eyes, he fell for her strength, her straight forwardness and her fragile side when it comes to love ᵕᴗᵕ
OMG, i can't~ The first few episodes had so much going on! And for this drama to cast both gong yoo and lee dong wook ♥ᴥ♥
I love the storyline, and the bickerings of the "goblin" and the "grim reaper", and there are characters left to be introduced to, which leaves me curious to know how the others will come into the story.
Love the chemistry of all the actors and actresses, including all the supporting casts! Watched a few behind the scenes and every one of them opened up real quickly to one another ♥
And of course love love loving the scenes where the "goblin" gets troubled over the female character, worrying how he would look in front of her whenever she summons him and regretting it when he hurt her with his words ᵕᴗᵕ ♥ ♥ ♥
Kudos to kim go eun for fitting so well into any role, loved her in cheese in the trap and loving her high school cuteness in Goblin
Also, gong yoo and lee dong wook looked so dashing at the end of episode 2!!! As they catwalk down the road while the OST plays in the background (>▲<) #heroessavingtheday #damselindistress #stillstronglyetchedinmymind
I am basking in happiness recently with all the ongoing dramas. This one, this one is a romantic comedy with two perfect lead casts; their looks wise and their touch of humor that they bring into the drama. Also love how you can totally overlook that fact that the female lead is a mermaid, because her naivety actually adds many hilarious scenes into the drama. And not to mention, I'm falling more and more each episode, for lee min ho~ His smirks, his astounded reactions and his warm smile when he looks at her ♥ᴗ♥
Tazza 2: The Hidden Card
Watched Tazza 2 today with my mom ᵕᴗᵕ Cause I suddenly recalled that I have yet to watch this film, in which choi seung hyun (TOP) acted in!! Love how realistically the film portrayed those living a life of gambling and deception usually comes into play. The characters in the film face a fear of who they can really trust, and more often than so, it's the least expected people who betrays them. But then again, the main character do come across a kind samaritan who offers a hand when he fell to the shallows. There are also characters like the female lead's brother, who is always there to protect and support her, even putting her life before his own. AKA family~
Day by day, I feel more like an adult, though not a very perfect one. I still am lazy and confused with bills and of course I fumble around the features of an AXS machine. I still don't really reject people when needed to (boundaries) and I just can't wear on that stoic face, especially when frustrated or upset.
It is as though a B grade student in school can never do as well in society as compared to an A grade student who just plunges into life with just their confidence and their degree. Though they not necessarily are people with very high emotional quotient. Me being judgmental or not, it is usually the case based on my own EQ ¬ᴗ¬
Anyway, the only times when I can put down the facade, that I have tons of responsibilities, is when I'm with my true friends and my family. Definition of true friends: people who dont give a fck about how I present myself and how I am on the outside, cause they know me on the inside ♥ᴥ♥
Felt tempted to watch this Jap movie, although I've read reviews that it is more of an indie film, which some parts we may not understand. But because of this not bad fan-made drama, I wanna start on it :)
Getting more and more addicted to "Girlfriend", although it has some similarities with one of Kanye West song... But I just can't get enough of TOP's singing for the second stanza ♥o♥
REGINA SPEKTOR - WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS (KUBO OST)
AKMU - MELTED
SLEEPING AT LAST - SATURN
URBAN ZAKAPA - I DON'T LOVE YOU
Please dont curse me when you realise that my post doesn't have a single Big Bang video despite the picture. Just wanted to get your attention that Big Bang has released their final songs for their MADE album!
And the first song above is an OST of a movie "Kubo and the Two Strings" which my mom and I watched together (we are practically movie buddies).
A really meaningful storyline behind the cartoon, which my mom wasn't interested in at first (she was fiddling with her mobile), and commented "not bad for a cartoon" at the end of it.
The OST caught me by surprise, at the ending credits, cause it was a cover of one of my favourite oldies (i have quite a lot of favourite oldies). Sounds different but feels the same as the original Beatles' one.
The second song is just one of my favourite songs from AKMU and it just popped up on my playlist today.
Just finished another lovely drama ^ᴥ^ Wasn't a huge fan of taecyeon but loved his character in the drama, and of course kim so hyun's as well. Love the Park Bong Pal and Kim Hyun Ji combination!
Don't have much to comment on, as compared to the other dramas... This isn't for the faint-hearted #ghostalert #lotsofthem. But I really enjoyed this drama thoroughly, their push and pull friendship/romance, as well as the evil plot which unleashes and the fair ending.
And probably cause both actors looked so cute and innocent in the drama. ♥ᴥ♥
As a child, I was fascinated by christmas; streets decked with blusish white lights and christmas carols everywhere, booming throughout the malls that my mom would drag me through.
As a teenager, I felt that christmas was time of giving and it always "burned a hole in my pocket" but i was still happy to do so; watching friends exchange gifts with smiles on their faces.
As an adult, I just like to chill at home during christmas, staring at the christmas tree we so painstakingly put up, with a mug of hot chocolate (milo). But of course I wouldnt mind a get-together with friends, just that with everyone's busy schedule, it's becoming more and more less likely...
Emotions aside, I wonder how can BTS look so energetic and bubbly for this video, despite their jam-packed schedules #youth
Just an update on the events which passed, this november. My family and I celebrated 2 birthdays together, my mom's and jared's. However we celebrated jared's birthday a week in advance as I flew to korea with my 2nd sister and her family for his actual birthday :)
Just wnna bring up a group that recently had their comeback, a group that I have been following since their "no more dream" and "we are bulletproof" days, which caught my eye cause of their synchronised group dances and rebellious hip hop style.
And though many love them for their cool dance moves, smooth raps and boyish appeal, I would like to also highlight how talented they are as composers/lyricists for their own songs. Of course not forgetting the amazing vocal line as well
They are my FAVEs together with Big Bang and Winner~ I think I love groups where each member has their distinct "colour"
Today was D DAY!! ♥ᴗ♥ BIG BANG's MADE FANMEET (>▲<) Met up with che wen and we headed to Kallang Wave Mall for some fast food before queuing for the Standing Zone~ Although it was super close to the members, the view isn't as good as those seated in the same category. And futhermore, the VIPs chosen on stage for games are all from the CAT 1 seating zone ᵕ_ᵕ
The night was great, as BIG BANG performed ALL their songs from MADE album, as well as their solo songs ♥ᴥ♥ The only thing lacking would be that TOP wasn't present, to share the excitement and fun tonight. However, VIPs all had a great time nevertheless, because BIG BANG never let their fans down! ᵕᴗᵕ
GD was a bit quieter and spoke less during the start of the concert, but he liven up and smiled lots towards the middle of the concert (due to seungri? ^ᴗ^ and of course due to busking himself in the out-of-the-world songs they create) He was immersing himself in the songs towards the end ^ᴥ^
Seungri was witty and making jokes throughout the fanmeet, showing the fans lots of cuteness (in place of his hyungs). Though GD commented that it was probably due to Seungri's hangover the previous night in malaysia (>o<)
Daesung was so considerate to his fans during the games, and of course providing lots of fan service throughout the night. He sounded so cute when he would fumble while speaking english, and ending off his speech abruptly (>ᴗ<)
Taeyang just amazes us with his excellent english and interacted with us so much cause of that. And I love just how many times Taeyang mentioned that he loves singapore. It's been a long while since I've felt so proud to be a singaporean, and for our country to be appreciated. He was smiling the most throughout~ ^ᴗ^
After the concert, che wen and I parted ways as we headed home around 8pm. But it was a rare occasion that I was all dressed up, and out of the house... Hence I decided to head to Marina Bay Sands to take a bus home from there.
Well, it was a lovely walk around the area, especially while listening to songs. "Heaven" by big bang and "Baby Baby" by winner popped up on my songlist •ᴥ• And once again, I felt at ease even when alone. Had this thought recently, "that I don't have to rush myself in finding a soulmate. that I'm actually quite fine on my own~"
Today, I plucked up the courage on finishing the last three episodes of Winner's JTBC show "half moon friends". Have been watching it since May, but due to my melbourne trip and my work at the office, I left the show on hold since July.
Anyway, so glad that I finished it. It gave me really good vibes, like although I cried three times during the last two episodes, it left this tingly feeling in me. A feeling like, it is possible to have farewells on a good note.
Although winner and the kids were unbearable in saying their goodbyes, all that is left are happy memories and good life lessons that the teachers gave to them. Made me really respect winner, as down-to-earth artists, teachers and such precious humans.
Watched "train to busan" with my family :) I am usually ok with horror or thiller films. But I am EXCEPTIONALLY irritable and agitated when it comes to zombie films :S Probably cause the deaths come all at once, and of course with all the gory blood and flesh eating... Hate zombie films! But I heard too many good reviews to give this film a miss, and simply cause I trust that korean films will provide me with a justifiable ending, an equilibrium.
Love the movie, and how it incorporates so much love, warmth and bond in a horror film. Though it is just like any gory zombie film which makes me sick to the stomach. Hence, with both of the above mentioned elements, I cried loads when the last sacrifice was made... And my whole family's still cursing that coward old piece of shxt~ His character in the film is really the lowest of scums, even trash compared.
Was really rooting for the main 6 characters, the father and daughter, the husband and wife, and the student couple. The ending was acceptable to a certain extent but I really really had hoped that 'the last person to die, to leave the survivors' would survive~ Oh the movie made me shoot hearts out from my eyes for Gong yoo. He was so handsome in the film, as a leader and as a father •ᴥ•
(aunt ashley's favourite band when she was younger)
My relatives had a sudden impromptu karaoke session today (or actually yesterday, sunday), which was loads of fun (>▲<) So I first coincidentally met my cousin, dickson at Downtown East. We headed to get my dinner as well as had a go at the arcade. He kept trying his luck at the claw machines, which I assumed the prize was for his girlfriend ¬ᴗ¬
Afterwards we headed to the karaoke place and settled down, ordering drinks for everyone while we started listening to some songs. Think it would be awkward for either of us to start singing while by ourselves. Then, my uncle & aunt, shawn and aunt gina came shortly afterwards and the party began ^ᴗ^
Was a fun time as usual, and shawn had another recording of his dad's singing added to his collection ᵕٮᵕ Dickson was on the verge of losing his voice at the end of the day from singing all the rock/high pitched screaming songs~ (>o<)
After the karaoke session ended, we headed over to shawn and his parent's place, to start a round of mahjong. Aunt ashley and nicholas were home too and I was super glad to see everyone all in one place ᵕᴥᵕ
that would be me... "she probably thought she'd fly" -Jeffrey Eugenides.
Anyway, currently watching a few dramas. Back on my time wasting hobby~
JU A - I AM (EMERGENCY COUPLE OST)
W - two worlds
First off, it isn't at all a cliche drama plot. Every episode brings more twists and surprises! How more sorrowful can the male lead's life get ᵕ/\ᵕ Really love the female lead's 4D personality (>▲<) It is really quite a thrilling ride and the lead characters have that chemistry on screen •ᴥ• You can never get bored waiting for the next episode! And I'm really rooting for their "happy ending" ᵕٮᵕ
cinderella and four knights
Well, was introduced to this drama by my sis. So at first I wasn't really into it. But I liked how this drama incorporated lots of life lessons which made me think back on treasuring the time we have with our family. Cause most of the characters in the drama have such unfortunate lost of loved ones ᵕ_ᵕ You also don't really know the actual love line until you get til halfway through the drama ¬ᴗ¬ Loving all their cute mischevious interactions with one another
moonlight drawn by clouds
Quite a cliche historical drama plot, but who would mind it when the lead characters are all so pleasant to the eyes -ᴥ- And the drama actually has lots of random hilarious scenes, love the humor here and there! (>ᴗ<) One thing which used to bore me from historical films are the cliche minister or evil queen's huge master plot on overthrowing the kingdom. Those scenes totally dampens a drama's atmosphere~ At least I'm still very into staring at the beautiful, chiseled faces of the main casts for now ^ᴗ^
Probably because I have been mulling over how T.O.P will be enlisting into the army soon, which means us as fans can longer see him on screen. I had a dream of him, finally. "The dream started with me and my secondary two friends. We were in this maze like place, searching for our way out. Our spirits were high and laughter echoed throughout the dream.
Then suddenly, everything kind of transcended into this other scene, where it was still me with them, but this time with two additional guys. Both of which are choi seung hyun. One seung hyun before debut, with his shaven head and bad boy, rebellious look. The other seung hyun had a neat haircut and carries a warm smile on his face (the look that he would have now in reality, after pulling off a joke).
We were all walking in a line, with the 2 T.O.P(s) in front of me. Then all of a sudden, I had to make a decision (which I can't remember what for) to hold one of their hands. Both looked in my direction. And I chose to hold the hand of him before debut."
Well I think this dream got its roots from all my memories of Big Bang during their trainee days. And of course, T.O.P had been my bias and all...It still felt like yesterday, when I would watch all their music videos, advertisements, behind the scenes, and all their appearances on variety shows.
I fondly remember T.O.P with his shaven head, and him with his longer length hair filming for Baskin Robins (being the dorkiest behind the scenes). And of course, his solo song "Act Like Nothing's Wrong" which had been my lullaby during my secondary school days.
Him trying his best on his dancing and losing weight during the documentary of the formation of Big Bang. Still, he never fails to let loose his dorky side, with a "scream mask" and some wacky dance moves, evoking laughter from those around.
I can no longer confirm if Korean Pop Culture had taken up my youth, or left me with precious memories to call my own. But I think it is more of the latter. For someone who is not very sociable to start with, I'm sure those time would have been myself exploring some other alternatives of fun.
Am still kind of blaming myself for getting distracted during those crucial years, which I should have been mugging for my O levels. But now that I looked back at my youth, I am so glad I jumped onto this bandwagon, which provided loads of laughter and warmth.
Ramdomly came across this other japanese movie revolving around high school love (but not kind of the plot you would expect). Still, it is sweet and innocent nonetheless :) The female lead is also super introverted, which reminds me of myself in primary school~
Wishing all the best for this new group cause they seem like nice girls, may they strive to be like 2ne1 and have as little internal conflicts as possible! On a sidenote, all four are really dilligent, hence all brilliant dancers~
A Japanese movie to kill time on a friday night, after coming home from big bang's MADE movie. Had to find something to distract myself and I stumbled upon this random movie :)
and every drama or movie has to have some fan made videos (it actl makes little sense without watching the whole film)
So... Che Wen and I are going to be watching Big Bang's MADE movie this evening! After work! I'm so excited that I can't focus properly even while rushing a deadline~
ヽ(‘ ∇ ‘ )ノ
This is gonna be a special movie even though we ain't gonna see them live. Because, TOP will be enlisting in the army soon, followed by GD and so on... Which means that this is gonna be one of the last few acts by them, together as Big Bang, before 10 years later?! ◕︿◕
I still remember 8 years back, when I first became hooked and a VIP, was when I saw 'haru haru' and 'lollipop' on youtube ♥‿♥
Still, we are so gonna watch MADE in the best of moods, because they will want their fans to thoroughly enjoy all these footages that they've put together!
Recently recovering the inner otaku within me, from korean webtoons to re-reading some japanese mangas online. Was stuck on SkipBeat!, however I finally am at the last updated episode T.T Waiting for uploads on webtoons and the mangas are such a pain~
And coincidentally, I found this really amazing artist online, who draws beautiful scenaries of Japan ♥_♥
Never thought that I would ever be addicted to reading mangas... but I did. On Webtoons. For the past few weeks, probably a time frame of about 2 months, I have been chasing these comics on webtoons and once you are hooked, you dive into this amazing world where anything is possible -ᴗ-
So here are the following webtoon comics that I have read and would definitely recommend: Flow, Witch Hunt, Dice, Noblesse, Lessa, Lessa 2, of which my favourites are the first and fourth ♥ᴗ♥ If you'd prefer for romantic/cute mangas: Cheese In The Trap, Siren's Lament, Super Secret
Currently watching 2 light-heart dramas: Beautiful Gong Shim & Another Miss Oh :3
Both have lovely and fun introductions to the drama that makes me wnna finish them, though both are still ongoing ᵕoᵕ
Disclaimer: both videos above are of AMO cause I can't find any nice fanmade videos on BGS
Today I had a sweet dream of my favourite korean celebrity :) But isn't there a belief that "whatever you dream of, will not come true in reality"? :'(
“Every morning, I wake up and forget just for a second that it happened. But once my eyes open, it buries me like a landslide of sharp, sad rocks. Once my eyes open, I’m heavy, like there’s too much gravity on my heart.”
BARBARA DONHINI & RENATO ENOCH - ALL OF THE STARS (COVER)
After work yesterday, my mom and granny came to our workplace after their event in the afternoon and we all headed to Orchard, Conrad Hotel for a buffet in celebration of Mother's Day ^ᴗ^
After our sumptuous dinner, my cousin shawn asked for a game of mahjong, to which I suggested for bowling instead (as I had promised jared for the night) So we met up with aunt gina, my cousins shawn & nicholas at SAFRA. We had an hour of bowling, which jared enjoyed lots, followed by some exciting episodes of table soccer (>ᴗ<)
Afterwhich, aunt gina and shawn decided to head over to our home for a game of mahjong with me and my mom. Nicholas had to leave cause he had an early date the next morning. So we played til four, five in the morning -ᴗ-
