lovely memories help overcome the sorrow in farewells

Today, I plucked up the courage on finishing the last three episodes of Winner's JTBC show "half moon friends". Have been watching it since May, but due to my melbourne trip and my work at the office, I left the show on hold since July.

Anyway, so glad that I finished it. It gave me really good vibes, like although I cried three times during the last two episodes, it left this tingly feeling in me. A feeling like, it is possible to have farewells on a good note.

Although winner and the kids were unbearable in saying their goodbyes, all that is left are happy memories and good life lessons that the teachers gave to them. Made me really respect winner, as down-to-earth artists, teachers and such precious humans.

my fear

CONCAVE SCREAM - STILL

Watched "train to busan" with my family :) I am usually ok with horror or thiller films. But I am EXCEPTIONALLY irritable and agitated when it comes to zombie films :S Probably cause the deaths come all at once, and of course with all the gory blood and flesh eating... Hate zombie films! But I heard too many good reviews to give this film a miss, and simply cause I trust that korean films will provide me with a justifiable ending, an equilibrium.

Love the movie, and how it incorporates so much love, warmth and bond in a horror film. Though it is just like any gory zombie film which makes me sick to the stomach. Hence, with both of the above mentioned elements, I cried loads when the last sacrifice was made... And my whole family's still cursing that coward old piece of shxt~ His character in the film is really the lowest of scums, even trash compared.

Was really rooting for the main 6 characters, the father and daughter, the husband and wife, and the student couple. The ending was acceptable to a certain extent but I really really had hoped that 'the last person to die, to leave the survivors' would survive~ Oh the movie made me shoot hearts out from my eyes for Gong yoo. He was so handsome in the film, as a leader and as a father •ᴥ•

because they know you

THE SMASHING PUMPKINS - 1979

(aunt ashley's favourite band when she was younger)

My relatives had a sudden impromptu karaoke session today (or actually yesterday, sunday), which was loads of fun (>▲<) So I first coincidentally met my cousin, dickson at Downtown East. We headed to get my dinner as well as had a go at the arcade. He kept trying his luck at the claw machines, which I assumed the prize was for his girlfriend ¬ᴗ¬

Afterwards we headed to the karaoke place and settled down, ordering drinks for everyone while we started listening to some songs. Think it would be awkward for either of us to start singing while by ourselves. Then, my uncle & aunt, shawn and aunt gina came shortly afterwards and the party began ^ᴗ^

Was a fun time as usual, and shawn had another recording of his dad's singing added to his collection ᵕٮᵕ Dickson was on the verge of losing his voice at the end of the day from singing all the rock/high pitched screaming songs~ (>o<)

After the karaoke session ended, we headed over to shawn and his parent's place, to start a round of mahjong. Aunt ashley and nicholas were home too and I was super glad to see everyone all in one place ᵕᴥᵕ

a dreamer (someone completely out of touch with reality)

that would be me... "she probably thought she'd fly" -Jeffrey Eugenides.
Anyway, currently watching a few dramas. Back on my time wasting hobby~

JU A - I AM (EMERGENCY COUPLE OST)

W - two worlds
First off, it isn't at all a cliche drama plot. Every episode brings more twists and surprises! How more sorrowful can the male lead's life get ᵕ/\ᵕ Really love the female lead's 4D personality (>▲<) It is really quite a thrilling ride and the lead characters have that chemistry on screen •ᴥ• You can never get bored waiting for the next episode! And I'm really rooting for their "happy ending" ᵕٮᵕ

cinderella and four knights
Well, was introduced to this drama by my sis. So at first I wasn't really into it. But I liked how this drama incorporated lots of life lessons which made me think back on treasuring the time we have with our family. Cause most of the characters in the drama have such unfortunate lost of loved ones ᵕ_ᵕ You also don't really know the actual love line until you get til halfway through the drama ¬ᴗ¬ Loving all their cute mischevious interactions with one another

moonlight drawn by clouds
Quite a cliche historical drama plot, but who would mind it when the lead characters are all so pleasant to the eyes -ᴥ- And the drama actually has lots of random hilarious scenes, love the humor here and there! (>ᴗ<) One thing which used to bore me from historical films are the cliche minister or evil queen's huge master plot on overthrowing the kingdom. Those scenes totally dampens a drama's atmosphere~ At least I'm still very into staring at the beautiful, chiseled faces of the main casts for now ^ᴗ^

suddenly, there in your humdrum town is a magical movie

TONARI NO KAIBUTSU-KUN OST - TETSUKAZU NO KANJOU

Probably because I have been mulling over how T.O.P will be enlisting into the army soon, which means us as fans can longer see him on screen. I had a dream of him, finally. "The dream started with me and my secondary two friends. We were in this maze like place, searching for our way out. Our spirits were high and laughter echoed throughout the dream.

Then suddenly, everything kind of transcended into this other scene, where it was still me with them, but this time with two additional guys. Both of which are choi seung hyun. One seung hyun before debut, with his shaven head and bad boy, rebellious look. The other seung hyun had a neat haircut and carries a warm smile on his face (the look that he would have now in reality, after pulling off a joke).

We were all walking in a line, with the 2 T.O.P(s) in front of me. Then all of a sudden, I had to make a decision (which I can't remember what for) to hold one of their hands. Both looked in my direction. And I chose to hold the hand of him before debut."

Well I think this dream got its roots from all my memories of Big Bang during their trainee days. And of course, T.O.P had been my bias and all...It still felt like yesterday, when I would watch all their music videos, advertisements, behind the scenes, and all their appearances on variety shows.

I fondly remember T.O.P with his shaven head, and him with his longer length hair filming for Baskin Robins (being the dorkiest behind the scenes). And of course, his solo song "Act Like Nothing's Wrong" which had been my lullaby during my secondary school days.

Him trying his best on his dancing and losing weight during the documentary of the formation of Big Bang. Still, he never fails to let loose his dorky side, with a "scream mask" and some wacky dance moves, evoking laughter from those around.

I can no longer confirm if Korean Pop Culture had taken up my youth, or left me with precious memories to call my own. But I think it is more of the latter. For someone who is not very sociable to start with, I'm sure those time would have been myself exploring some other alternatives of fun.

Am still kind of blaming myself for getting distracted during those crucial years, which I should have been mugging for my O levels. But now that I looked back at my youth, I am so glad I jumped onto this bandwagon, which provided loads of laughter and warmth.
