the sight of stars always makes me dream
V - INNER CHILD
Two of my favourite fan-made videos of BTS which i kept in my phone since 2017. Every now and then, when I'm feeling down or empty inside, I would rewatch these two videos. Cause it ignites a warm fuzzy emotion within me, something that is not common in my typical day/life.
Wouldn't claim that I'm a hardcore ARMY, but I have been noticing and following BTS ever since NO MORE DREAM, WE ARE BULLETPROOF, BORN SINGER etc (in 2013). Back then, I was a huge fan of Big Bang, and I couldn't help but notice this rookie group that had so much stage presence on Mnet Countdown, Music Bank etc.
As I went to listen to their whole album, I fell for BONUS TRACK #9 and LET ME KNOW. The group had music that were more Hip Hop, but which lyrics touched on so much reality that youths faced. And they also had music that were softer and sensitive, and also relayed the fragile side of teenagers, as one faces the bitter truths life brings us.
Before I knew it, I fell hard for the group; their teamspirit, their brotherly bond and all the members. It wasn't like the other boy groups then, where I had to memorise each member's name, but more of like a natural growing interest in this group of brothers. And my curiousity was easily fed by all the countless dance practices, and weekly RUN! BTS series that is on V live.

from a dream
CIGARETTES AFTER SEX - K.
sea of strangers, lang leav
read some poems tonight and there was this part of a poem that was so true. It struck me right away, I could relate to it:
There are three stages of waking:
Remembering who you are.
Forgetting what you dreamt.
Letting go of what you felt in that dream.
Many times I knew I was having the sweetest dream, and the moment I woke, I couldn't recall what was it about, or whom I was with.

a love so fragile
Hotarubi No Mori e
During this Covid19 Corona Virus Outbreak, with all the face masks and gloves, a sudden thought came to me. It was this anime that I watched years ago: hotarubi no mori e. The story of a young girl named Hotaru and her friendship with Gin, a strange young man wearing a mask, who she meets at the age of six in a mountain forest near her grandfather's country home. The two's affections grow as Hotaru returns to visit Gin whenever she has a summer break, and Gin watches Hotaru grow into a fine young lady while he seems to remain the same
However, Gin has warned Hotaru since the beginning that he is a supernatural being (it is assumed that he is a yamagami or mountain spirit) and a touch from a human will cause him to disappear forever. It was such a bittersweet anime, and the ending left me broken-hearted, to the point that til this day, I would still think of that anime every now and then. It was just too sad an ending...
So back to my thought today, what if both Hotaru and Gin simply wore long gloves and face masks. They could hold hands and even... ;) In conclusion, it was a great anime to show that love has no boundaries (even across realms). It was one of the first few shows that made me feel that way, followed by the more recent Kakuriyo: Bed and Breakfast for Spirits and The Ancient Magus' Bride
